The present invention relates to a system and a method for recognizing a factory automation object robust to an occlusion and a rotation. The system comprises: an input portion for photographing an object placed on a factory automation line acquiring a screen image; an interest region setting portion for comparing the screen image with a previously input background image and setting an interest region; a ring projection portion for extracting a candidate group corresponding to a value of which a degree of correlation is greater than or equal to a predetermined first threshold value by using ring projection for the set interest region; a radiation projection portion for extracting a radiation projection vector from a template image, dividing the screen image from the extracted candidate into four, and extracting the radiation projection vector from each divided region; and an object determining portion for calculating the degree of correlation through the extracted template image and the radiation projection vector of each region and recognizing the object by comparing each degree of correlation.
