The present invention provides an apparatus for generating an animal spinal cord injury model, comprising: an extracorporeal fixing member fixed to the outside of the body of an experimental animal; a collision weight body (30) applying hitting to the spinal cord of the experimental animal; and a collision weight body guide member (20) fixed to the extracorporeal fixing member and guiding a fall of the collision weight body, wherein the collision weight body includes an acceleration sensor. In addition, the present invention provides a method for generating an animal spinal cord injury model, comprising a collision weight body for applying hitting to the spinal cord of an experimental animal and a collision weight body guide member for guiding a fall of the collision weight body, wherein the collision weight body includes an acceleration sensor to obtain acceleration of the collision weight body. The method of the present invention comprises: a first step of integrating acceleration from a free fall point of the collision weight body to a collision moment, to obtain a speed at the collision moment; a second step of obtaining an impulse by using the product of the mass of the collision weight body and a speed change over a spinal cord collision time; and a third step of obtaining an impulse force by using the impulse obtained in the second step and the spinal cord collision time.
