The present invention relates to a Xylaria grammica EL 000614 strain exhibiting nematicidal activities against root-knot nematodes, and a use thereof. According to the present invention, the Xylaria grammica EL 000614 strain for controlling nematodes is a strain isolated from lichen (Usnea sp.) residing in trees and rocks in Jirisan in Korea. The Xylaria grammica EL 000614 strain barely causes environmental pollution by being collected from nature, and exhibits high nematode activities and egg hatching inhibitory activities against root-knot nematodes (M. incognita). Thus, the strain of the present invention can be useful as a remarkable biological control agent which can prevent problems due to environmental pollution.
