The present invention relates to a variant microorganism, and to a method for producing butanol using the same. In the variant microorganism having butanol-generating ability from glucose under anaerobic conditions, a gene encoding alcohol dehydrogenase and a gene encoding propionaldehyde dehydrogenase are substituted with a gene derived from an aerobic microorganism, and the expression of a citrate synthase gene is down-regulated. According to the present invention, butanol can be produced at a high yield through aerobic fermentation which can utilize a low-cost culture medium to have an effect of reducing costs for raw materials, and to achieve the diversity of a butanol manufacturing process without being dependent on conventionally indispensable anaerobic conditions.
