The present invention relates to a battery set system including a fault current reduction circuit and, more specifically, to a battery set system which can block battery explosion probability and other accidents due to fault current by reducing and controlling fault current that may occur in a high power battery system. In addition, the battery set system including a fault current reduction circuit comprises: a main power line; a battery string which includes a plurality of battery cells, and is connected to provide discharge current of the battery cells to the main power line; a current limit resistor unit which is to guide and limit a path of the fault current between the main power line and the battery string when the fault current occurs; a bypass switch unit which is connected with the current limit resistor unit in parallel, and is switched so that the fault current can bypass to the current limit resistor unit; a current measuring unit which is to measure current between the main power line and the battery string; and a fault current control unit which determines occurrence of fault current when the size of a first sampling current measured by the current measuring unit exceeds largely a predetermined normal range, and which switching controls the bypass switch unit so that the fault current can be guided to the current limit resistor unit. Therefore, the battery set system including a fault current reduction circuit can prevent thermal runaway of a high power battery string, and consecutive fire explosion by reducing fault current for hundreds of milliseconds when the fault current occurs, and by stabilizing the system with switching control through fault current prediction.
