The present invention relates to a seismic switchgear equipped with a pendulum type shock absorber of a protruding structure, which is capable of attenuating not only the transverse waves of an earthquake but also the influence of the longitudinal waves to secure the safety of the switchgear. The seismic switchgear equipped with a pendulum type shock absorber includes a switchboard; a variable frame installed between a base of a lower portion of the switchboard and a bottom surface of the switchboard, the variable frame including an upper plate formed of a rigid member and a lower plate arranged to face the upper plate at a lower portion of the upper plate and being separated from the upper plate; and a buffering module made of an elastomeric material and disposed between the upper and lower plates, the buffering module composed of an upper block having a hemispherical encapsulation surface on a lower surface thereof, a lower block disposed on a lower portion of the upper block and having a curved surface having a curvature radius larger than a radius of curvature of the encapsulating surface and curved constantly over the entire surface, a friction bearing having an upper part formed in a hemispherical shape corresponding to the curved surface and a lower surface distended at a curvature equal to the curvature of the curved surface, and a wire rope having an elastic structure to connect the side surfaces of the upper and lower blocks. According to the seismic switchgear of the present invention, not only the vertical vibration but also the horizontal vibration can be dispersed, and the damage situation applied to the seismic switchgear in the situation of earthquake can be known in real time. In addition, even if a power failure occurs due to an emergency such as an earthquake, it is possible to investigate damage caused by the self-generating means to the power distribution panel, and the seismic switchgear can be used as an emergency meter illumination.
