The present invention relates to an electrode for a secondary battery and a manufacturing method thereof. The electrode comprises: a current collector; a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) layer applied on the current collector, including a polymer, a conductive material and a binder, and having a property that a conductive path of the conductive material is cut off due to volume expansion of the polymer when the temperature rises, wherein the polymer is crosslinked by E-bean irradiation; and an active material layer applied on the PTC layer. The present invention enhances reliability of the battery safety by suppressing a flow of conductive material particles.
