The present invention relates to a novel biomarker for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases and a use thereof. More specifically, by developing a biomarker for diagnosing neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases through detection of changes in GCN5 by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in BV-2 neuroglia cells, it is possible to provide a kit for diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases using the same, a method for providing information necessary for diagnosing neurodegenerative disease, a method for screening a substance for preventing or treating neurodegenerative disease, and a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating neurodegenerative disease.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
