The present invention relates to a cutting insert to improve durability thereof by improving fastening force and heat conductivity when the cutting insert is coupled to a holder provided in a body of a tool. According to the present invention, the cutting insert comprises an upper surface, a lower surface, a side surface connecting the upper surface and the lower surface, and a cutting edge portion formed by the upper surface and the side surface. On the outermost surface of the cutting insert, a fastening assist layer is formed by being inserted or coated to cover a portion or the whole of a fastening surface coupled to a holder of a tool body. Moreover, the fastening assist layer is composed of a material that has low hardness, excellent ductility, and high heat conductivity by a hard film formed on base material forming the cutting insert or a surface of the base material of the cutting insert.
