Valve adaptation for upper insert valve in cryogenic service

The field retrofit assembly for the upper insert valve includes an annular conduit 100 configured to conform to the sheet support 106 at the distal end 207 and a valve body extension 208 having an inner annular region 301 . Valve body extension 208 includes an inlet port 209 fluidly connected to annular region 301. The gland packing presser plate 211 is configured to allow the annular conduit 100 to pass therethrough to form the discharge port 212. This allows for the removal of a portion of the fluid from the cold box for downstream treatment or manipulation, if necessary.
