The present invention relates to a method of preparing activated carbon using a biomass and a method of manufacturing a filter using activated carbon. More specifically, the present invention provides a method of manufacturing an activated carbon filter using the biomass comprising: a raw material preparing step (1) of pulverizing the biomass and removing impurities from a pulverized biomass powder; a chemical treatment step (2) of mixing the biomass powder with an aqueous alkali solution and removing water from a mixed slurry; an activation step (3) of injecting a biomass mixed powder obtained in the step (2) and performing a heat treatment process to activate specific surface area and pores of the biomass mixed powder; and an activated carbon completing step (4) of washing a biomass activated powder obtained in the step (3) to remove metal components from the biomass activated powder and drying the washed biomass activated powder to obtain an activated carbon powder; a step (5) of purifying a crude pyroligneous liquor of the biomass obtained in the activation step (3) under reduced pressure distillation to obtain a purified pyroligneous liquor; and a step (6) of mixing the purified pyroligneous liquor obtained in the step (5) and the activated carbon powder obtained in the step (4) with a binder and a fiber forming resin, and spinning the mixture, thereby manufacturing the filter. According to the present invention, the activated carbon filter is very suitable for uses such as filters for air purification and water purification and others since the activated carbon filter has excellent adsorption efficiency for fine particles, is excellent in removal efficiency of malodor, and has an excellent inhibitory effect for bacterial multiplication. Therefore, the activated carbon filter is suitably used for uses including an air purification filter, a medium filter, a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filter, a water purification filter, a carbon-wound filter, a pre-filter, and others.
