Provided is a method for producing an aligned meta-aramid nanofiber having a nanometer-scaled diameter and for improving chemical resistance and mechanical strength of the meta-aramid nanofiber through post-treatment. More specifically, provided is a method for producing a meta-aramid nanofiber with improved chemical resistance and mechanical strength, comprising the following steps: (A) completely removing salt contained in a nanofiber through a washing process; and (B) heat-treating a nanofiber mat under atmospheric or inert gas condition. The meta-aramid nanofiber can be applied not only to a functional clothing material but also as a permeable material for gas separation and fluid separation which require high heat, high pressure or high chemical resistance to meet users′ demands.
