The present disclosure relates to a method for searching a section corresponding to a highlight in multimedia stored or transmitted in the form of a file. The method includes a step of parsing a multimedia file into at least one frame, a step of partially decompressing at least one frame, a step of extracting at least one metadata parameter from at least one partially decompressed frame, and a step of determining a section corresponding to the highlight of the multimedia file based on the at least one metadata parameter. It is possible to quickly find the highlight in multimedia data.
