An apparatus and a method for processing multimedia data, and a system and a method for searching multimedia data using the same are provided to increase user satisfaction by partially providing multimedia data to users. A Web server(101) performs an interface function such as providing a processing result of a sub-system with respect to a user demand. A u-web middleware(102) collects data for cooperatively operating the Web server and each sub-system and provides a service. A client-based sub-system(103) manages profiles of each user and performs storing/searching/managing personal information, and establishes a personal ontology associated with user profile information and meta data. A USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) sub-system(104) collects, processes and manages location-based USN data, establishes and manages an archive center with respect to large capacity data. An object information sub-system(105) stores object information page in a database, and edits/generates/searches the same. A map management sub-system(106) establishes map information/facility information/location information and associates it to a POI(Point Of Interest). A multimedia sub-system(107) stores multimedia data transferred from the USN middleware in a database(110). A UCC(User Created Contents) sub-system(108) uploads and downloads multimedia UCC and processes user interest information. A USN middleware(109) collects/refine/stores object information and manages an SGW(Sensor Gateway)(111). A database(110) stores client information, USN data, object information, multimedia UCC, multimedia data, map data, sensing data, or the like, and is managed by each sub-system. The sensor gateway(111) is attached to a vehicle and manages a sensor node that senses temperature/humidity/dust/ozone.
