Disclosed is a front target tracking apparatus based on an array antenna, which comprises an antenna unit disposed on the outer side of a nose unit or the side surface of the fuselage of an aircraft or a missile; a spatial division table generating unit for dividing a forward hemisphere space at the front of the antenna unit to form a spatial division table; a target direction calculating unit for determining a divisional space in which a target is expected to be positioned by comparing the same with a table value of the spatial division table to calculate the direction of the target; a target tracking unit for tracking a target by orienting a front target tracking apparatus to the target through a control command; and a storage unit for storing an amplitude comparison result value corresponding to each space. According to the present invention, by using the plurality of antennas, the direction of the target is detected and tracked by comparison between an amplitude ratio of power received by the antennas and a stored amplitude comparison result value.
