The present invention relates to a technique for inputting Chinese characters and, specifically, to a terminal for inputting Chinese characters and a method thereof, which are formed in accordance with a frequency number of the Chinese characters to be input and are to individually designate the multiple Chinese character sets to the frequency number, wherein the terminal for inputting Chinese characters and the method thereof are to simply input the Chinese characters by selecting a basic character among the designated Chinese character set on a smartphone screen. According to the present invention, the basic character of the Chinese characters is expressed as the set on the smartphone screen and is directly selected from the set. So, a device for inputting the Chinese character and a method thereof complete the Chinese characters by combining the Chinese characters selected. The device for inputting the Chinese characters and the method thereof can individually designate the multiple Chinese character sets by forming the set in accordance with the frequency number of the Chinese characters to be input and can simply input the Chinese characters by selecting an extension Chinese character among the designated Chinese character set. Also, according to the present invention, the terminal for inputting the Chinese characters and the method thereof can input a desired Chinese character even if there is no additional Korean character button, Chinese character button, or English alphabet button.
