The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating respiratory diseases comprising alcohol or organic solvent extracts of Justicia procumbens L. as an active ingredient, a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating respiratory diseases comprising alcohol or organic solvent extracts of Justicia procumbens L. containing at least one of justicidin A, justicidin B, justicidin C, and phyllamyricin C, and a food composition thereof for preventing or alleviating respiratory diseases. According to the present invention, the composition comprising extracts of Justicia procumbens L. can suppress abnormal hyperplasia of splenocytes and inhibit the secretion of allergic inflammatory cytokines, and exhibits the sputum emission effect and the airway constriction suppression effect, thereby effectively preventing, treating or alleviating respiratory diseases.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
