COMPOSITION FOR CRYOPRESERVATION OF STEM CELLS HAVING IMPROVED CRYOPRESERVATION EFFECT AND METHOD USING THE SAME

The present invention relates to a composition for cryopreservation of stem cells having an improved cryopreservation effect, and a method using the same. The composition for cryopreservation of stem cells includes recombinant human serum albumin, trehalose, methylcellulose and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as an active ingredient, but does not include fetal bovine serum (FBS) as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, when the composition for cryopreservation of stem cells is used to cryopreserve stem cells, the number of stem cells is uniformly maintained before and after cryopreservation, the stem cells exhibit excellent survival rate and proliferation after thawing, and expression of cell surface markers is maintained, and thus, stem cell characteristics are maintained even when the stem cells are cryopreserved. Accordingly, the composition for cryopreservation of stem cells can be used as a cryoprotectant agent. Specifically, the composition for cryopreservation of stem cells does not include an animal and heterologous material, thereby being applicable in a clinical test.
