The present invention relates to a glaze composition with excellent far infrared radiation and antibacterial performance and to a pottery. The glaze composition according to the present invention is characterized by being composed of water and volcanic sand, wherein the volcanic sand can have a size of 600 mesh, and can be contained in an amount of 10 to 30 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the water. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide the glaze composition and the pottery capable of releasing a large amount of far-infrared rays to provide useful functions to the human body. In addition, it is possible to provide the glaze composition and the pottery having excellent antibacterial properties.
