The present invention relates to a method for indexing spatio-temporal data in a cloud service and an apparatus using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for indexing spatio-temporal data comprises the steps of: receiving a spatio-temporal question from a user; determining whether temporal data and spatio data are present in a spatio-temporal question; generating patio-temporal data based on the temporal data and the spatio data; and searching a spatio-temporal division region corresponding to spatio-temporal data among a plurality of spatio-temporal division regions. By constructing an index on the spatio-temporal data, the spatio-temporal data can be effectively managed.
