One embodiment of the present invention provides a method implemented in a base station for PRACH preamble detection and PRACH reference segment generation in an LTE communication system. The base station may perform a series of mathematical techniques for generating a PRACH reference segment using the CAZAC sequence used to detect the PRACH preamble. Further, the base station can identify the PRACH by using the signal received by the base station. The base station may divide the signal to produce contact or non-contact segments. Further, the base station may perform segment multiplication and subsequent addition approaches between the value at each frequency position of the PRACH frequency segment and the complex conjugate of the value at the corresponding frequency position of the PRACH reference segment, Can be used.
