Streptomyces hygroscopicus Mutant Strain with Increased Productivity of Rapamycin

The present invention provides a Streptomyces hygroscopicus CKDBR 0807 strain that produces an immunosuppressant rapamycin at a high concentration and a method for producing rapamycin using the same. The strain of the present invention is very economical since it can produce rapamycin as an immunosuppressant at a high concentration. The present invention provides information on the nucleotide sequence variation of a gene that may affect the productivity of rapamycin obtained by comparing the result of the draft genome sequencing of the strain of the present invention and the wild type strain. Therefore, the present invention can be usefully used for the industrial mass production of the immunosuppressant rapamycin.
