Provided is an expandable awning device for a road facility. The awning device installed in the road facility where a pedestrian temporarily awaits according to signals of a traffic light, comprises: a column installed to stand up on the ground; a basic awning screen installed at an end of the column, arranging an installation space therein, and arranging opening holes on a front surface and a rear surface; an assistant awning screen installed within the installation space to be able to slide and operated to protrude out of the basic awning screen or to be held such that an awning space is varied and adjusted; a driving unit supplying power for a sliding operation of the assistant awning screen; a power supply unit supplying power to the driving unit; a control unit controlling an operation of the driving unit; and a sensor unit applying a signal for the operation of the driving unit to the control unit according to climate changes. The present invention can vary and adjust the awning space according to the climate changes, thereby being capable of being safely and conveniently utilized by the pedestrian.
