Disclosed is a method to reinforce a fault fragmental zone of a rock tunnel boring machine (TBM) tunnel, capable of securing safety of a worker. According to the present invention, a rock tunnel excavation apparatus comprises: an excavation body including a rotary cutter head and a forward moving unit to move forward the rotary cutter head; a gripper body closely adhered to a rock tunnel surface to support the excavation body when the excavation body moves forward; and a segment erector installed between the rotary cutter head of the excavation body and the gripper body. A work to reinforce a fault fragmental zone with the rock tunnel excavation apparatus in excavation of a rock tunnel comprises: a first process (S1) of connecting a segment to the segment erector; a second process (S2) of rotating the segment erector to which the segment is connected so as to allow the segment erector to be closely adhered to a rock tunnel surface of the fault fragmental zone; a third process (S3) of fastening and fixating a set anchor to the segment closely adhered to the rock tunnel surface; and a segment construction process (S4) of repeatedly advancing the first to third processes to construct a plurality of segments in 360° with respect to a circular rock tunnel surface of the fault fragmental zone. In the segment construction process (S4), as the segment is rotated by rotating the segment erector to which the segment is connected, the segments are assembled and installed while side surfaces thereof are closely adhered to each other without overlapping.
