SEAMLESS SWITCHING FOR MULTIHOP HYBRID NETWORKS

In a multi-hop network, based on stream marker packets and additional path distinguishing operations, amorphous path switching is enabled. A device receiving non-sequential packets via the same ingress interface may determine the proper order for incoming packets with different upstream routes. Based on where the route update begins, in the relay device or the destination device, the order of the packets may change. Reordering packets from various upstream paths may depend on the type of service associated with the packet.
