A method for applying one or more materials to an embroidery base in a pre-programmed pattern by an embroidery machine. Controlled by an embroidery program, relative movement occurs between one or more application devices and the embroidery base, and one or more materials are sprayed onto the embroidery base. Applicable devices for applying the material may include, for example, a spray device for spraying the material, one or more supports for primarily fixing the spray device, and secondarily for attaching the spray device to the embroidery machine. An embroidery machine designed in particular as a shuttle embroiderer or a multi-head embroiderer comprises a plurality of needle locations and one or more application devices. With the embroidery machine, the embroidery patterns and print patterns can be effectively applied to the embroidery base in a predetermined relationship with respect to each other.;
