The present invention relates to a ferry safety information transmission method of a ferry safety information transmission system. The ferry safety information transmission method comprises the following steps: a safety information collection unit obtains ferry safety information including the ferry location, ferry speed, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, and ferry tilt degree; an emergency determining unit determines whether a ferry is in an emergency situation or not; a message generation unit generates mobile communication messages by using the ferry safety information when the ferry is determined to be in the emergency situation; a ferry location determining unit determines whether the ferry is located in a coastal area when the ferry is determined not to be in the emergency situation; the message generation unit uses the ferry safety information to generate mobile communication messages when the ferry is located in a coastal area; and the message generation unit uses the ferry safety information to generate satellite communication messages having a smaller data load than the mobile communication messages when the ferry is not located in a coastal area.
