The present invention relates to a missing child preventing system and method. The missing child preventing system includes: a mobile terminal having a missing child preventing program installed thereon and executing the missing child preventing program for alerting by using the signal strength of short-range communication; and a smart band connected to the mobile terminal through short-range communication and warning step by step corresponding to an alarm distance to the mobile terminal. The missing child preventing system adjusts an alarm level by stages according to the alarm distance between the mobile terminal and the smart band, and adjusts an alarm level by stages according to dangerous areas where children are lost. According to the present invention, when a guardian enters the dangerous areas where children are lost, the guardian can previously recognize missing through pre-warning, thereby effectively preventing an occurrence of a missing child. In addition, warning is performed by stages through measuring an alarm distance between the mobile terminal and the smart band by using Bluetooth intensity, and the alarm distance between the mobile terminal and the smart band is automatically changed in response to the dangerous areas where children are lost. Thus, since the alarm can be made before a child is out of the view of the guardian, an occurrence of a missing child can be effectively prevented. Further, a signal such as LED flashing, a telephone number, and the like in addition to the sound is outputted through the smart band, and the output intensity can be strengthened, thereby effectively informing the surroundings of a lost state and easily contacting the guardian by using the telephone number.
