The present invention relates to an electrochromic compound which is represented by chemical formula 1. The present invention further relates to an electrochromic device including the same, and an operation method thereof. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an electrochromic device with improved coloring efficiency, coloring-bleaching reaction rate, and coloring-bleaching operation stability. In the chemical formula 1, Ar^1, Ar^2, R^1, R^2, A^-, n^1, and n^2 are the same as described in the specification.
