FIELD: technological processes.SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in preparation of beryllium hydroxide used in production of metallic beryllium, copper-beryllium ligature, ceramics from beryllium oxide and beryllium salts. Method for obtaining beryllium hydroxide from beryllium-containing concentrates comprises action of a concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, separation of the solution from the cake, and purification of the solution from iron and manganese. Then hydrolysis of sodium beryllate is carried out to produce beryllium hydroxide. Mother solutions are strengthened after hydrolysis by addition of solid sodium hydroxide. Electrochemical neutralization of excess alkali with an initial concentration of 450 g/dmare carried out in one step to the stability limit of sodium beryllate solution in the alkali concentration range of 100–70 g/dmfollowed by hydrolysis of the sodium beryllate solution. Alkaline solution is purified from iron and manganese impurities before it enters the electrodialyzer by feeding oxygen into the slurry pulp obtained after autoclave opening, followed by phase separation by filtration.EFFECT: invention provides simplified technology for processing beryllium-containing concentrates by reducing the number of operations, simplifying the instrument scheme, increasing productivity of the process for obtaining beryllium hydroxide.3 cl, 3 dwg, 3 tbl, 2 ex
