FIELD: manufacturing technology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of an electrocontact composite material based on copper containing clusters based on refractory metal particles. Method includes machining a mixture of copper and refractory metal powders in an argon atmosphere at a mass ratio of balls and a mixture of powders of 20:1–40:1, speed of rotation of planetary disk of the planetary mill 694–900 rpm and processing time 5–90 minutes to obtain nanocomposite particles with a crystallite size of the refractory metal from 5 nm to 100 mcm, and subsequent spark plasma sintering of the activated mixture of powders in the chamber in a vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere, passing 500–5000 A pulsed electric current through the sintered mixture under load up to 50 MPa, at a temperature of 700–1000 °C and a sintering time of 5–15 minutes.;EFFECT: structure of material is regulated.;1 cl, 5 dwg, 3 ex
