METHOD OF GROWING SAFFLOWER IN DRY AGRICULTURE OF ARID REGIONS

FIELD: agriculture.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture. Main soil treatment and mulching of the top layer with post-harvest and plant residues of the precursor are carried out. Pre-sowing soil cultivation and sowing of plant seeds at a depth of 0.02–0.05 m with a row spacing of up to 0.3 m are performed. For the first year of safflower cultivation, main deep tillage of the soil is carried out to a depth of 0.32–0.35 m and mulching of the top layer with post-harvest and plant residues of the precursor to a depth of 0.15–0.20 m are carried out, with the latter being performed in one pass by means of an energy-efficient chisel-mouldboard implement. Fertiliser-ameliorant is applied to the surface of the treated field in the form of a mulching layer, said fertiliser-ameliorant being based on waste water treated and dried up to the free-flowing state of a sludge in a dose of 5–20 t/ha. In the second year of cultivation of safflower as a main soil treatment, double disking is carried out along and across the field without covering the fertiliser-ameliorant. Seeds are planted in spring when temperatures in the soil layer reach 0.10 m 6–8 °C.;EFFECT: higher yield of safflower when cultivated for two years or more in a row in the same place with reduction in energy and resource costs.;1 cl
