FIELD: construction.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, namely for determination, by mechanical tests for the toughness of the suitability of structural elements made of sheet metal with a thickness of 0.4 to 2.9 mm, for use in areas of the Far North and equated areas, where the estimated temperature reaches minus 65 °C. Essence: from sheets of sheet steel rolled steel, in order to avoid loss of stability, a prismatic package with a thickness of at least 3.0 mm is produced, then bag is tightened with screws 2.0 mm in diameter through two 2.2 mm holes, located at a distance of 17.5 mm from the axis of the notch, and apply a V- or U-shaped notch on the package from the side opposite to the movement of the hammer mechanism of the copra. Bend test is carried out using a copra with a nominal pendulum energy of 300 J, and for production of the package sheets of sheet steel rolled with the same thickness are used, and to reduce the spread of the impact strength values, the surface of the end face of the package from the impact side of the copra is mechanically flushed.;EFFECT: possibility of carrying out a test for toughness of sheet steel rolled in thickness from 0_4 to 3_5 mm at negative temperatures to minus 65 °C.;1 cl, 5 dwg
