FIELD: powder metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to layer-by-layer manufacturing of a part from a powder. Method comprises steps of a) providing a powdered material, b) depositing a first layer of powder on a support; c) scanning a first layer with a high-energy beam to locally heat the powder, providing selective melting or selective sintering of the powder and forming at least a first single-piece element, d) depositing a second layer of powder, e) scanning at least one region of the second layer for local heating of the powder, providing selective melting or selective sintering of the powder and forming at least one single-piece element, f) repeating steps d) and e) for each new powder layer to form a part. Powder with a multimodal grain size distribution is used. Between steps a) and b), the powder is continuously heated in a feed hopper to temperature Tp that is less than the sintering temperature of the powder. Inert gas stream passing through the powder is formed to allow reduction of humidity of the air adsorbed on the surface of the powder particles.;EFFECT: reduced porosity of the part.;16 cl, 1 tbl, 8 dwg
