摘要

Recyclability of Ti_6Al_4V and Alloy 718 powders during selective electron beam melting process was investigated. An experimental plan was designed with reuse strategy without the addition of new powders. Particle size distribution, flowability, morphology and chemical composition of the powders are evaluated after every build using standard operations. Results confirm that there are no changes in bulk characteristics of Ti_6Al_4V or Alloy 718 powders or builds after recycling, except oxygen pick-up. Analyses of heat shield shows preferential evaporation of Cr from alloy 718 builds and Al from Ti_6A_4V builds during processing Comprehensive analyses of the log files are recommended to understand the selective electron beam melting process.
