Method for setting and measuring a preload on a bearing arrangement (1, 1 ') arranged radially between a planetary gear (2, 2') with a radially outer ring gear (9, 9 ') and a planetary carrier (3), wherein the bearing arrangement (1; 1 ') has two tapered roller bearings (4, 5), in which the planetary gear (2, 2') forms the common outer ring (8, 8 ') and two inner rings (11, 13) pushed onto the planetary carrier (3) are present, between which roll two rows of tapered rollers (7), wherein for adjusting the axial preload an axial distance (A) between axially inner end faces (14, 15) of the inner rings (11, 13) by applying an axially acting force (F) on a axially outer end face (16) of one of the inner rings (13) is changed, and wherein the bearing on the bearing assembly (1; 1 ') acting bias at least during the change of the axial distance (A) is measured, characterized in that the bias voltage by a Frequency analysis of the dawn tion of the planet wheel (2; 2 ') is determined, wherein the damping of the planetary gear (2, 2') by means of a vibration sensor (17) at least during the application of the force (F) on the outer end face (16) of an inner ring (13) is measured.
