The invention proposes a method and a monitoring device for determining the turning characteristic of at least of a cyclist, as well as for determining the properties of curves by means of the following steps of, prior to:– Determining the beginning of a cornering of a two-wheel vehicle;– Determining the speed of the two-wheeled vehicle during cornering;– Determining the angle of roll of the two-wheeled vehicle during cornering;– Determination of the curve radius of the angle of roll and the speed in a monitoring device in the two-wheeler; and– Storing the radius of the curve in the monitoring device in the two-wheeler.
