The present invention relates to a chair, in particular conference or office chair, with a seat support; with a backrest support; with a trained as a force storage element armrest carrier; and with a translation coupling the seat carrier to the backrest support, which permits pivoting of the backrest support and of the seat support with a predetermined movement between an upright and a backward pivoted position, wherein the armrest support designed as a force storage element is coupled to the seat support and the backrest support such that the predetermined movement sequence is made possible and the armrest support provides a force returning to the upright position. The present invention further relates to a process for its preparation.
