The present invention relates to a chair, in particular conference room or office chair, with a seat carrier; with a backrest support; having formed as an energy storage element armrest support; and with a seat carrier with the backrest carrier coupling ratio, which pivoting of the backrest carrier and the seat carrier with a predetermined sequence of movements between an upright and a permitted rearwardly pivoted position, designed as a power storage element armrest support to the seat support and the backrest support is coupled to, that the predetermined movement sequence is enabled and the armrest support provides a restoring force in the upright position.
