The invention relates to a method for determining the position of a mobile BLE device (1) relative to a vehicle (2). The BLE device (1) has a BLE interface (3) and the vehicle (1) has a system (4) of BLE interfaces (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) with a BLE interface. Central interface (5) and at least one first BLE satellite interface (6), preferably further BLE satellite interfaces (7, 9, 10, 11) .The BLE satellite interfaces (6, 7, 9, 10, 11 ) comprise a sniffer module (6a, 7a, 9a, 10a, 11a). The method comprises that the BLE satellite interfaces (6, 7, 9, 10, 11) communicate between the BLE central interface (5 ) and the BLE interface (3) of the mobile BLE device (1) in connection mode. Monitored signal strengths are used to locate the BLE device (1).
