Distributed switches for suppressing transient electrical overload induced blocking are provided. In certain configurations, an integrated circuit (IC) or semiconductor die includes a transient electrical overload detection circuit that activates a transient overload detection signal in response to detecting a transient electrical overload event between a pair of bus bars. The IC further includes mixed signal circuits and blocking suppression switches distributed across the IC, and in response to activation of the transient overload detection signal, the blocking suppression switches temporarily connect the bus bars to each other to inhibit blocking of the mixed signal circuits.
