The invention relates to a method for modifying the rendering of a web page generated by a target server and displayed by a browser. The method includes an edit mode that can be accessed by a JavaScript engine, in which: a JavaScript editing module that can display a graphical modification interface is downloaded from an application server to the JavaScript engine, said application server being a remote server that can be accessed by means of an Internet-type communication network; the web page is analysed in order to identify elements thereof that can be modified in terms of rendering; on the basis of an analysis of the HTML structure and the style sheets of the original web page, the application server generates style data using the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) language in response to instructions from a user by means of the graphical modification interface, said style data being backed up remotely; and the modified elements are displayed on the web page in accordance with the style data.
