The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a composite structure of the sandwich type, comprising at least one core (12) inserted between two plates (14, 16). The process is characteristic in that it comprises: - a step of embodiment of the windings (18), each around a profiled section (20), each structural element (20) comprising at least a first face that is configured to be pressed against one of the plates (14, 16), a step of the juxtaposition of the sections (20), - a stiffening step of the windings (18) so as to obtain a lattice of fibers. The present invention also relates to a composite structure of the sandwich type, obtained from the method of the invention.
