The invention relates to a device for estimating a particle size distribution, DTP, in a sample of particles dispersed in a medium, comprising: - a photodetector allowing the observation of a plurality of scattered rays; the sample, each scattered ray being characterized by an observation angle (θ1, θ2, ..., θR), when the sample receives an incident beam emitted by a coherent light source, and - adapted processing means for, iteratively, initiating a measurement of an autocorrelation function of the intensity of the scattered ray associated with a current observation angle, by a photodetector; updating the estimate from the autocorrelation functions at the observation angles of a set consisting of the current observation angle and those of the previous iterations, the estimation being determined by the estimation of the parameters of a model mixed with Gaussian distributions; determining a new viewing angle as the current viewing angle, as being that which minimizes a Cramer-Rao bound of these parameters, considered on a second set of angles formed of said set and a new angle of view. possible observation; and wherein the number of iterations corresponds to a desired and predetermined number of viewing angles, and the initial conditions consist of an initial viewing angle.
