A method of selecting a device from among a plurality of energy-autonomous devices (11, 12, 13) connected to an access network of a communication network and located in a determined geographical area (1), capable of executing instructions (Int1, Int2, Int3) relating to the provision of a service by the network, the method being implemented by a management equipment (90). The method comprises the steps of obtaining information relating to the capabilities of devices (11, 12, 13) of the plurality, receiving a request message from a terminal (10) connected to the network of communication, comprising a request for resources for executing said instructions (Int1, Int2, Int3), selecting at least one of the plurality of devices according to the information and the request for resources and sending a selection message to the terminal (10), comprising an identifier of the at least one selected device.
