The invention relates to a motor vehicle roof lining comprising a non-contact control device (10) comprising two infrared emitters (13, 14) arranged symmetrically on either side of an infrared photoreceptor (17) capable of generating electrical currents representative of the received radiation, said control device also comprising a control unit (18) able to detect, from the analysis of said currents delivered by said photoreceptor, the passage of a body in the different cones of transmitting said emitters (13, 14) and the distance of said body from said device, said driving unit being configured to emit a plurality of control signals to the at least said electrical component according to the different movements detected a said body being at a distance less than or equal to a predetermined threshold distance.
