The present invention relates to the prevention of diseases in which the reactive oxygen species (or ROS) of mitochondrial origin are involved. It relates more particularly to the use of an inhibitor of the production of mitochondrial ROS, in particular anethole trithione, to prevent the adverse effects of statins.
