An emergency window breaking system includes a central control unit 210 and at least two window breaker control units 220 (WBCU) that are connected by using a field bus, the central control unit controlling each WBCU. The central control unit includes an algorithm control and drive circuit 212, configured to receive information from each WBCU, and send a warning and control signal in a particular emergency situation. Each WBCU includes a glass breaker control unit 2201 and a detection unit 2202, and the glass breaker control unit further includes an electrically initiated window breaker. The central control unit receives and processes information from the detection unit of each WBCU, determines which window needs to be broken, and sends a window breaking request to the corresponding glass breaker control unit, and the window breaker of the glass breaker control unit executes a window breaking action according to the received request. The system may be utilized in a train and may include temperature, smoke, and acceleration sensors, as well as a photographing apparatus (which collects field images). The system may prevent the windows being broken if the train speed is above a particular speed. The system may also include a manual switch.
