The invention provides a tool analysis device and a method for analysis of the processing of a workpiece with a tool. The tool analysis device is provided with an acquiring unit used for acquiring motion of a user of the tool which is executed when the tool is being used for performing a processing task on the work piece; a comparison unit used for comparing path features searched in the motion of the user obtained by utilizing the acquiring unit with predetermined path features; and an evaluation unit used for evaluating the result of the comparison unit with motion cost as less as possible for the user.
