POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION COMPRISING CARBONACEOUS STRUCTURES AND HAVING IMPROVED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition comprising (a) a propylene polymer base resin, and (b) carbonaceous structures, wherein the polypropylene composition has a tensile modulus satisfying the equation:$\mathop{\mathrm{image}}$wherein x is the amount of the carbonaceous structures in the polypropylene composition, expressed in wt% of the total weight of the polypropylene composition;k is a coefficient having values from 200 to 300;b is the tensile modulus of the propylene polymer base resin; and whereinthe propylene polymer base resin (a) has a density in the range 0.860-0.970 g/cm3 and is selected from the group consisting of isotactic polypropylene with tacticity of at least 50%; random and heterophasic propylene copolymers; and blends of these polymers including other olefinic or non-olefinic polymers, where these other polymers do not exceed 40 wt% of the total propylene polymer composition.
